This year's Giving Day broke the record for participation, with gifts from more than 3,450  Ithaca College students, alumni, faculty, staff and supporters. Throughout the day, donors spoke to the power of the IC experience, sharing their thoughts and experiences on social media.

Barbara Palmer ’79, founder of Your Fourth Trimester:

“I am who I am because of Ithaca College — my friends, my family by choice, my memories, my foundational years, professors, my preparation for all that came next. Today is one day to give back and make an impact on the college and its future.”

Malinda Logan ’01, director of corporate engagement at the United Way of New York City:

“I'm very proud of Ithaca for putting this Giving Day together and happy to have played my small part in our progress. Looking forward to seeing how this success can catapult into phenomenal change this and every year to come!”

Adriana Paska ’03, floor director at CNN:

“Attending IC's Park School of Communications was the best decision I ever made. I had incredible experiences at both the TV and radio stations, crafting my journalism and production skills, while simultaneously making lifelong friends! IC has so much to offer everyone in a myriad of ways; I give to both the Park School and the Financial Aid fund because I want current and future students to receive the same excellent education and immeasurable opportunities.”

“We donated to make our daughter’s experience at IC on a social level more enriching. IC Club Tennis is a great group of young adults, and we are thrilled with the lifelong friendships she has made. Only a positive experiences with this club sport.”

“For the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has perpetuated uncertainty in students' lives by creating unexpected housing and food expenses; restricting travel and potentially stranding them away from home; limiting their income from hourly jobs or work-study positions; and creating other unforeseen challenges. By helping meet students' emergency financial needs, the Student Emergency Relief Fund can give IC students the ability to overcome unforeseen setbacks, including those created or exacerbated by the pandemic.”

Wendy Kobler, vice president of Philanthropy and Engagement:

“Joining our alumni in showing their Bomber pride were current students, families, faculty, staff, and other friends and supporters of the college who challenged one another to contribute to important programs and initiatives that will have a lasting impact on the institution that they love so much. It is our hope that the engagement generated by participation on Giving Day will continue throughout the year. The goal is not just to raise money — it is to raise the level of involvement by our many constituencies in ways that will benefit the IC community now and well into the future.”
