Congratulations to the current and former members of the faculty who have been recognized by the Ithaca College Board of Trustees. At its February meetings, the board granted emeritus status to five retired faculty members and awarded promotions and tenure to nine current faculty members.
The following were named professor emerita or emeritus. This is an honorary title awarded after retirement to those who have made sustained contributions to Ithaca College and/or to their profession in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Fahri Unsal, professor of marketing, who retired in 2020.
School of Health Sciences and Human Performance
Stephen Lahr, professor of physical therapy, who retired in 2018.
School of Humanities and Sciences
Asma Barlas, professor of politics, who retired in 2020.
Carla Golden, professor of psychology, who retired in 2020.
Bruce Henderson, professor of communication studies, who retired in 2020.
The following faculty member was awarded tenure and promoted from associate professor to professor. Criteria for promotion to professor include: evidence of a continued record of teaching excellence, evidence of significant scholarly or appropriate professional attainment, evidence of having attained regional or national stature in the discipline or distinguished academic leadership at the college, and evidence of significant service to the college and profession.

Julie Dorsey, who earned her B.A. and M.S. from Ithaca College and Ph.D. from Boston University.
