The public is invited to enjoy a special preview of Ithaca College’s traditional Commencement Eve Concert on Friday, May 20, in Glazer Arena of the Athletics and Events Center. Serving as a dress rehearsal for the following night’s performance, the concert will be held at 8:30 p.m. and admission is free.
The theme of this year’s concert is “A Celebration of Community, Rebirth and Resiliency.” The concert will be directed by Mike Titlebaum, director of Jazz Studies and associate professor of music performance in the School of Music.
The concert will feature the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, Choir, Jazz Ensemble and Trombone Troupe. Additionally, a percussion trio and a percussion quartet will perform, along with solo vocalists.
The performance will include works by artists ranging from Leonard Bernstein to Ithaca College student Anna Young ’22 to the Punch Brothers and Duke Ellington.
While not required, those attending all Commencement Weekend events are strongly encouraged to wear appropriate face coverings.
