The Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance continues its 2023-24 theatre production season with “X” by Alistair McDowall. The play explores the lives of a space crew stranded on Pluto as they struggle with fighting boredom and losing their own minds in the liminal space they are trapped in.
Directed by Marc Gomes, “X” will be presented in the McCarroll Studio Theatre and runs select dates between November 29 and December 6. There will be a talkback with the cast after the 2 p.m. show on December 2.
In a time when Earth is rapidly becoming uninhabitable, a crew is stranded in a research base on Pluto. As they waste their days waiting to be taken home, they reminisce on the life they held prior, wondering if they will ever return to the world they knew. “X” is a haunting play that explores loss, humankind, and the fear of falling into a state of insanity.
