Ithaca College Theatre Presents “Into the Woods”

Musical follows characters who make wishes in their fantastical world.
Into the Woods

Ithaca College’s Center for Theatre and Dance is proud to present the musical event of the semester “Into the Woods,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and libretto by James Lapine. This Tony-Award, Drama Critics’ Circle Award, Drama Desk Award, and Grammy Award-winning musical will run October 21 – October 27, 2022 in the Hoerner Theatre in Dillingham Center.

In Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical Baker and his Wife, Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, and the Witch all make wishes that have dire consequences in their fantastical world. These characters must learn to cope with their decisions and come together to restore the natural order of their world.

Director Gavin Mayer, assistant professor in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance says, “’Into the Woods’ encourages us to explore our own journeys—our wishes and dreams and what happens, both good and bad, when they come true.”

Tickets are available for purchase online at tickets.ithaca.edu or Monday through Friday 12 p.m.-5 p.m., in person at the Dillingham Center Box Office located in Dillingham Center, and by phone at (607) 274-3224.
