The annual Founder’s Day Concert in the Park will take place on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. in DeWitt Park in downtown Ithaca. The public is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy this free performance by the Ithaca College Concert Band and Wind Ensemble.
The program will include works by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein, among other composers, and feature such traditional songs as America the Beautiful, American Salute, Shenandoah, Molly on the Shore, and Ithaca Forever.
This will be the 31st year for the concert, which is sponsored by the Friends of Ithaca College and supported by Beverly Baker ’54.
In the event of bad weather, the concert will move to Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music, 146 Conservatory Drive, on the Ithaca College campus. If the concert is moved, it will be announced on the Friends of Ithaca College website.
