Lauded by Time magazine as a “master of the personal, embarrassing tale,” Birbiglia has a one-of-a-kind storytelling style in the stand-up comedy world. His off-Broadway show “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” was performed in over 70 cities worldwide and filmed for a Netflix comedy special. The show won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show and was named a Critics Pick by The New York Times, New York Magazine and Time Out New York. His most recent stand-up special, “Thank God for Jokes,” premiered on Netflix in 2017.
In 2012 Birbiglia directed and starred in the feature film adaptation of his one-man show “Sleepwalk With Me.” He also wrote, directed and starred in the 2016 comedy-drama “Don’t Think Twice.”
Birbiglia has appeared in such films as “The Fault in Our Stars,” “Trainwreck” and “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” and had recurring roles on the televisions shows “Orange Is the New Black” and “Billions.” He has also guest-starred on episodes of “Girls,” “Inside Amy Schumer” and “Broad City.”
Birbiglia has released four comedy albums and is a regular contributor to the Peabody Award-winning radio show “This American Life.”
Emmy Blotnick is a stand-up comedian and staff writer for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Nick Griffin is a veteran stand-up comic who has appeared on “Conan,” “The Late Late Show” and “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and in his own half-hour special on Comedy Central. Comedian Jo Firestone has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and “The Chris Gethard Show,” and in her own half-hour special on Comedy Central. Seaton Smith is a comedian, actor, writer and director who has appeared on “Conan,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” “Inside Amy Schumer” and “Girls.”
