This February, Ithaca College will send its own elite teams to the Super Bowl. Two select groups of students, one from the School of Business and the other from the Roy H. Park School of Communications, will travel to New Orleans for an unparalleled experiential learning opportunity of exclusive access and hands-on experience at one of the biggest sports and media events in the world.
Super Bowl Bound

Live from Radio Row
Beginning Monday, February 3, the Park students, christened the “Superb Six,” will broadcast content live from Radio Row, the epicenter of weeklong Super Bowl media coverage that features major networks, influencers, and streaming platforms conducting interviews with star players and creating content. They will also report from the Caesars Superdome, site of Super Bowl LIX, and from neighborhoods in New Orleans.
The Superb Six include sports media majors Justin Antonucci ’26, Parker Hollendoner ’25, Alex Tchiprout ’25, and Tobiah Zboray ’25 and television, photography, and digital media majors Bryan Manchester ’25 and Lindsey Peters ’25.
“I was talking to Rheanna DeCrow ’25 and Cam Manna ’25 [students who went to the Super Bowl last year], and they put it best,” said Manchester. “I’m excited to be treated like a professional, because they don’t view you as students. You’re a professional in the field, you are equal, and you have just as much of a chance to share three words with Tom Brady as someone working for a big media organization. I’m excited to work alongside those people who are in the industry.”

Rhys Finch, the Park School’s manager of television and radio operations, concurs, “I'm excited for these six students to venture out to one of the biggest media events of the year and truly put their skills to the test. They'll be side-by-side with other professionals from the field, getting the same kind of experience and access that media companies get. Thanks to the teachings of IC and the hard work that these students have put into their time at Park, WICB, and ICTV [Ithaca College’s student-led radio and TV stations, respectively], I know that these students will create fantastic deliverables and have an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Finch adds that the Superb Six’s trip would not be possible without the support of Dean Amy Falkner, colleagues and students from the Park School, alumni support and mentorship, and the contributors of Park’s Special Opportunities for Students (S.O.S.) Fund.

A Game-Changing Opportunity
According to Rachel Madsen, associate professor and chair of sport management, the seven sport management majors from the School of Business, all class of 2025, will likewise gain valuable experience and insights into the competitive sport industry, experience that is not available in the classroom. They will arrive in New Orleans on Thursday, February 6 and will meet and connect with IC alumni working for the NFL and various NFL teams and make valuable face-to-face connections and begin relationships.
“Ithaca College sport management students have a great reputation in the industry,” Madsen says, “because we bring a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm when we work these types of events, but also because our alumni have been so successful, and they are pervasive in the industry.”
Michael Johnson-Cramer, Dean of the School of Business, agrees: “Ithaca College’s School of Business prides itself on the practical education we provide. We send students to work at the Super Bowl, NCAA tournaments, and the New York City Marathon because these are the ‘classrooms’ where practical education happens. Of course, our students are asked back to these venues year after year because they possess the kinds of practical skills and work ethic that the industry demands.”

The seven students from the School of Business include Delaney Bennett, August Choder, Andrew Henderson, Rachel Hersch, Sara Hunter, Ray Lubrino, and Henry Symes.
“Not many people get to go to the Super Bowl, let alone work it, so there was no way I could ever pass up an opportunity like this,” says Hunter of the once-in-a-lifetime experience. “I’m most excited about seeing how they transform the stadium and the city for the big game. I have been to playoff baseball games before, and the energy is electric and contagious, so I am so excited to see what the crowd is like for the biggest game in the world. Experiences like this one are what set the Business School and sport management program apart from other schools.”
