With the winter sports season complete, the most recent Division III LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup standings have been released, with Ithaca College occupying a familiar spot.
IC currently ranks 29th out of 269 colleges with a total of 339.50 points. Institutions can earn points in up to 18 sports (nine women’s and nine men’s) based on their finishes at their respective NCAA Championships.
The Bombers’ winter sports teams earned 138 points, led by women’s swimming and diving, which earned 57 points for a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Championships, where Kailee Payne ’25 won national titles in the one- and three-meter dives. Men’s swimming and diving picked up 36 points for a 35th place finish, while the wrestling team brought home an additional 45 points for their 29th place finish.
Coupled with the 201.5 points earned during Fall competition, Ithaca leads all Liberty League institutions in scoring, with Hobart and William Smith the next closest conference foe with 253 points. Ithaca also is one of just five schools — along with Amherst College, Emory University, Middlebury College, and Williams College — to finish in the Top 30 every year of the Cup’s history.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website here.
