Guest bassoonist and lecturer Olivia Fletcher (IC Alum ’18) will present her lecture recital, “The Singing Reeds: Jenni Brandon’s Gift to Bassoon” on Sunday, April 21st at 1:00 pm in Nabenhauer Recital Room at the Whalen Center for Music. The performance will feature Christian Vallery on piano and Assistant Professor of Oboe, Jake Gunnar Walsh. Musical selections include three works by living composer Jenni Brandon—"Colored Stones for Solo Bassoon,” “Double Helix for Bassoon and Piano,” and “Going to the Sun: Snapshots from Glacier National Park for Oboe and Bassoon.” The lecture component will feature a theoretical analysis as well as the pedagogical and artistic contributions of Jenni Brandon to the double reed community.
