This dynamic program spans powerful new music and timeless masterworks. Gregory Smith – Fanfara per l’Italia (2025) (World Premiere) A thrilling new work by composer Gregory Smith, Fanfara per l’Italia captures the spirit and grandeur of the orchestral fanfare, blending bold brass flourishes with lyrical passages in a celebration of musical artistry. Richard Strauss – Death and Transfiguration A deeply expressive tone poem, Death and Transfiguration portrays a man's final moments, reflecting on life’s struggles before ascending to a state of radiant transcendence. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Requiem Mozart’s Requiem remains one of the most profound and mysterious choral works in history. Left incomplete at his death, this masterpiece—later finished by his student Franz Xaver Süssmayr—expresses the full range of human emotion, from the fiery Dies irae to the soaring Lux aeterna.
