SMA 2025 Applications

APPLICATIONS FOR SMA 2025 are now open!  Early application discounts applied with applications completed by January 15, 2025.

Dates:  July 27, 2025 - August 2, 2025

Application Opens:  December 1, 2024   

Tuition, Room, and Board: $1,300

Ages:  These programs are available to students entering grades 7, 8 or 9.

Overview: The Intermediate Division offers beginning and intermediate music students the opportunity to work with renowned faculty in a fun and supportive environment.  Students will participate in large ensembles, chamber ensembles, masterclasses, and an array of music courses designed to provide a quality summer musical experience to young musicians.

Application

Required Materials:

  • Online Application
  • Letter of recommendation from a music teacher (Requested through Application)
  • Non-refundable application fee ($50)

Dates and Deadlines:

  • December 1: Application opens.
  • January 15:  Deadline for early application discount ($50).
  • May 1:  Regular application deadline. Applications submitted after May 1 will be accepted on a space-available basis only.
  • May 15: Final application deadline. Final Payment deadline. All required forms due.

Notification

Applicants will be notified of acceptance via e-mail and will be admitted on a rolling basis until each ensemble is filled. Upon acceptance, a $600 tuition deposit is due. Payment in full and all required forms must be received by May 15. Need-based and talent-based scholarships are available.  Income information must be completed to be considered.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to the following deadlines and fees:
  • Cancellations prior to April 15 incur a $100 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations after May 1 forfeit their deposit.
  • Cancellations after May 15 will not receive a refund except for a documented medical emergency. If a medical emergency occurs during the Academy session, a refund for room and board will be refunded on a pro-rated basis, sans the non-refundable deposit.
  • No refunds will be offered for dismissal due to violation of Academy, state, or federal rules; early departure due to homesickness; voluntary withdrawal; or following successful completion of the program.
  • A full tuition refund will be issued if the event is cancelled.
