The 2019 Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival takes place on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Cinemapolis, from 5-7pm. We will be screening two films, Transfinite (feature-length) and Afterearth (short).
Transfinite is a sci-fi omnibus feature film composed of seven standalone short stories where supernatural trans and queer people from various cultures use their powers to protect, love, teach, fight and thrive. The director, Neelu Bhuman, will join us via Skype for a Q&A following the film.
Afterearth is a thirteen-minute narrative about the fight of four women to preserve their homelands of Hawai'i, the Phillipppines, China, and North America. Kit Yan, the writer for the film, will join us in Ithaca for the screening and a Q&A.
