In the center of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, Ithaca College's campus is 45 miles north of Binghamton and 60 miles south of Syracuse. Founded in 1892 as the Ithaca Conservatory of Music, the College was located in downtown Ithaca until the 1960s, when the present campus was built on South Hill overlooking Cayuga Lake.

Photographs
Ithaca College and its representatives on occasion take photographs for the College's use in print and electronic publications. This serves as public notice of the College's intent to do so and as a release to the College of permission to use such images as it deems fit. If you should object to the use of your photograph, you have the right to withhold its release by filling out a form at the Office of the Registrar.

Campus Store
Located in the Phillips Hall annex, the Ithaca College campus store is open Monday through Saturday. In addition to textbooks and general interest books, the bookstore offers a large selection of clothing, greeting cards, computer accessories, digital media, art supplies, and more.
CANVAS (Learning Management System)
Our campus learning management system is Canvas: canvas.ithaca.edu, and all online coursework operates using this platform. Once logged in at the Canvas site using your Netpass credentials, any courses using Canvas sites will be reflected at the top of the page. Some faculty use Canvas for face-to-face classes and some do not, which will be explained in the course syllabus or by the faculty member.
Career Services
If you are seeking assistance with career exploration or development, the career services office offers individual attention from a professional staff person. Call 607-274-3365 for an appointment. Career Services staff are available to assist you on a drop-in basis during designated drop-in hours.
Dining Services
We offer a wide array of dining services. The food court, located in the Campus Center, offers a variety of food at modest prices. You may also buy fixed-price meals in the campus dining halls. Meal plans may also be available.
Health Services
Health insurance is unavailable for students who are registered on a nondegree basis. For further information about Hammond Health Center services please contact them at (607) 274-3177.
Housing
Ithaca College does not offer housing for extramural (nondegree) students; however, rental options in and around the Ithaca area may be found on craigslist or through Cornell's off-campus housing service.
ID Card
Students need an Ithaca College identification card to obtain a summer parking permit, check out books from the library, set up a computer account to use a computer lab, pick up mail at the post office, and use the Fitness Center and the outdoor swimming pool. Matriculated and extramural students who already have an Ithaca College ID card and have registered for the for either or both of the five-week summer sessions may continue to use their ID, but only during the session(s) for which they have registered. There is a replacement fee for lost or stolen ID cards.
Be sure to stop by the ID Office, where photo ID cards are created. They are located at the Print Shop/Mail Room Lobby in the Public Safety and General Services building on Farm Pond Rd.
Information Technology Services
Nondegree students may use the computers in several labs operated by Information Technology Services (ITS). The largest and most-used computer facility is the complex on the first floor of Friends Hall. The labs are staffed by student consultants who are skilled at helping people with various computer applications. Before you can use ITS's services, you'll need an account. Just stop by Job Hall Center for Information Technology with your student ID card.
Library
The Ithaca College Library, located in Gannett Center, offers numerous services and information resources in electronic and print formats, including books, periodicals, compact discs, phonograph records, audiotapes, and videotapes. An online catalog is available to locate materials. You can search the catalog in the library or your personal computer. Reference librarians are also available to assist you. You will find that these helpful individuals can provide tips on how to use various print and electronic resources, direct you to appropriate materials, and recommend research strategies.
Netpass
Students registered for classes at Ithaca College are asked by the IT Service Desk (servicedesk@ithaca.edu) to activate their Netpass account using a Homer ID and PIN provided during the registration process. Instructions for obtaining a Homer ID and PIN, and for activating a Netpass account (and ithaca.edu email account) will be provided in an email message from the IT Service Desk confirming your official registration.
Parking
You may order your parking permit online here by using your Netpass username and password to log in. (Note that an Ithaca College Netpass account will be provided to you as part of the registration process.) After your vehicle is properly registered, all red lots (student lots) are available for your use. Visit Parking Services for information on cost. If you have questions, contact Parking Services at 607-274-3756.
Recreational Facilities
Campus recreational facilities are available to students. They include a state-of-the-art fitness center, which houses an exercise area, an aerobics studio, an indoor climbing wall, and two gymnasiums; and the indoor swimming pool in A&E Center. Outside are a track, tennis courts, and, during the summer, a pool.
Student Employment
Extramural students are ineligible for student employment.
Writing Center
The Ithaca College Writing Center offers support to students who need assistance with any stage of the writing process. Services include help with reading comprehension and study skills, individual instruction in English for nonnative speakers, one-on-one conferences, instructional handouts, and a reference library.
