Community Service Scholarships
The Ben Light '36 Memorial Scholarship was established by gifts from the family and friends of the late Ben Light, a devoted administrator who helped build the South Hill campus and is awarded to one student for outstanding contributions to the community.
This year's Ben Light '36 Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Daniel Jin, Class of 2025. Congratulations Daniel!
The John P.E. Brown '35 Scholarship was established in memory of John P. E. Brown, a member of the College's board of trustees for 52 years. It is awarded to students who have outstanding academic records and are active volunteers.

The William A. Scoones Community Service Award celebrates Bill Scoones's lifetime example of service both to Ithaca College and the greater Ithaca community. It is awarded annually to two rising upper-class students who have made significant contributions to the community through service work.

Involvement Awards
The Advisor of the Year Award is given to an advisor of a student organization who has shown true dedication and commitment. This year’s recipient is Marc Weinberg of Core Trading Consultants, who is a Lecturer in Finance and International Business here on campus. One student writes, "Professor Weinberg is the best advisor we can ask for. He cares a lot about the learning, growth, and development of every student involved in the club and is always willing to go the extra mile for our organization...Professor Weinberg also made it possible for us to go to the GAME forum which is the world's biggest financial forum in New York City." The Outstanding Executive Board Member of the Year Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates high levels of leadership, commitment, and support as an executive board member in their organization. This year’s award goes to Sara Mallory of Stillwater Magazine. One nominator said, " Sara Mallory, the editor-in-chief of Stillwater Magazine, has taken on a large amount of responsibility in transitioning the magazine from a Writing Department venture to an independent campus organization." "She's navigated the new system and persevered over publishing setbacks...She puts in hours of work every week to give the best experience to the club's editors as well as every submitter and reader. This issue of the magazine would not have come out without all of her hard work." Congratulations Sara!
This award is given to a newly formed OSE student organization recognized in the 2022- 2023 academic year who has shown true dedication and commitment to the Ithaca College community. This year’s recipient is Active Minds at IC. The mission of this organization is to change the conversation around mental health on our campus. They focus on building community, mental health education and destigmatization, and mental health advocacy. They’ve been extremely active on campus already and we all look forward to seeing how this amazing student organization continues to grow here on campus. Congratulations Active Minds at IC!
The Student Organization of the Year Award is given to a student organization that made outstanding contributions to the campus community during the academic year. This year’s recipient is the International Club of Ithaca College. One student said, "The organization plays a vital role in fostering inclusivity and promoting cultural exchange by organizing events that bring together students from diverse backgrounds. By facilitating interactions between domestic and international students, the organization helps to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and foster meaningful connections that enrich the campus community.” Congratulations International Club and we look forward to your continued amazing work!
The Program of the Year Award recognizes a successfully planned student organization program that enhanced the Ithaca College community by utilizing a different and creative approach, was open to the entire college community, utilized college resources, and drew in a diverse audience. This year, we are honoring Ithaca College BomberTHON’s BomberTHON 2024. BomberTHON’s annual dance marathon and fundraiser is always an incredible event that brings the whole campus community together to support such a great cause. This year’s BomberTHON resulted in $23,020.24 being raised for Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, New York. The IC campus community is so excited to celebrate the success of this program! Congratulations to BomberTHON!

The Anne Siegel '81 Memorial Scholarship was established through gifts to the College from the family and friends of the late Anne Siegel. It is awarded to rising juniors or seniors who most closely personify the qualities and attributes of Anne Siegel, including good academic performance and involvement in the extracurricular life of the College.

Margaret A. Reid Scholarship
This year's recipient of the Margaret A. Reid scholarship is Baneet Pukhrambam, Class of 2026. Margaret A. Reidwas an Ithaca College student and the bookkeeper on the Executive Board of the Student Government Association as a sophomore for the 1984-1985 academic year.Shortly after returning home for the summer before her junior year, Margaret passed away due to a small and undetected tumor in her brain. She donated her corneas and kidneys to those in need. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize current Ithaca College students who embody the same spirit of involvement and dedication as Margaret. She was an excellent student leader, and she understood the great value that participation on campus can lend to an education.
