Cantor Abbe Lyons Cantor Abbe Lyons (she/her) is an IC alum (voice performance, 1987), and has been involved with IC Hillel since 2006, first as a board member, then as Interim Executive Director (2010 & 2016), and since 2017 as Jewish Chaplain. She splits her time between Hillel at IC, Hillel at Binghamton, and teaching rabbinic and cantorial students in the ALEPH Ordination Programs, where she was ordained in 2010. She has also worked in the healing arts and nonprofit sectors. Cantor Abbe is a poet, liturgist and singer/songwriter, and the author of Jewish Liturgy: A Guide for Everyone. She and her wife, Stacy Snyder, L.Ac., an acupuncturist in private practice, are the proud mothers of Isaac (an animator living in Ottawa) and Sefira Pearl (their awesome cat). Fun fact: Cantor Abbe was certified as an auto mechanic in brakes and front end for 2 years in the early '80s.
