The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute in collaboration with the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center is pleased to announce Kimberly C. Paul as its Palliative Care Keynote speaker. This program will focus on connection, innovation, and available services to aging urban and rural communities. Our goal is to encourage honest and clear dialogue between those who are aging and their medical providers, family members, and children. The baby boomer generation is once again forging a new path in societal norms.

This free online health literacy series is a professional development event for anyone involved in communicating health information to patients, caregivers or to the public. The sessions will feature national experts in the field.

During the last 12 months everyone has experienced grief and loss, This session by grief expert Diane Snyder-Cowan will focus on the many aspects of loss, including disenfranchised and ambiguous grief, ways to manage grief and loss as well as self-care strategies to help make life better.

Join IC Physician Assistant program faculty Susan Shalashor and Melodie Kolmetz to explore some tools that can help ground you in uncertain times. Learn to build resilience through mindfulness and relieve your stress anywhere and anytime with calm/safe place.

Stress First Aid: Caring for yourself and others during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Dr. Patricia Watson will share a model of self-care and peer support that she helped develop for the US Navy and Marines, and that she has adapted to help you navigate these unprecedented times.

The Gerontology Department faculty are hosting a series for IC students, faculty, staff and community members to participate in a discussion on racism led by Belisa Gonzalez, Director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity and associate professor at IC.
