2020 Leadership Summit: Establishing Roots

Back by popular demand, The Office of Student Engagement presents IC's Leadership Summit. Earn 3 SLI credits in any track of your choosing for attending. In tandem with this year's theme of "Establishing Roots", this summit will take place virtually on October 17th from 12:00 PM - 2:15 PM (EDT). Join us for an afternoon of engaging Student Leadership Institute tracks of your choice as you hear from a variety of speakers of the different stages of becoming a leader. Come listen to their stories and learn how to 'step out, be bold, and be the change'!

Conversation with Zehorit Sorek - An Orthadox Israeli LGBTQ+ Activist and Educator

Raised in Jerusalem’s religious (Orthodox) society, Zehorit Sorek will share her journey, including her coming out story at the age of 29 as a mother of two young children, the complexity she faces as an Orthodox LGBTQ+ person in the state of Israel, and how she turned her challenges into advantages, establishing new communities through her strong belief that an individual’s desire for Chevrutah (companionship) can change the world we live in.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In support and in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness (DVAM) month, the Sexual Violence Prevention Committee (SVPC), is hosting events and workshops throughout the month of October.

Topics will include healthy dating, identifying signs of violence and bystander intervention techniques.
