Ithaca College Water Use

The water utilized on campus is drawn from Cayuga Lake. Water from the Lake is treated and distributed to campus by the Bolton Point water system. Once it reaches campus water is distributed across campus by a network owned and maintained by IC. Water is used for a variety of uses including consumption, hygiene, building systems heating through boilers and cooling through chillers, for irrigation as well as recreation.

IC Water Usage Through FY22

While there is some variation in annual water use, IC’s main campus typically uses approximately 120 million gallons of water per year and regularly is the highest utility cost for the College.
