H&S Pathways students meet as a group during Fall Orientation to build community. In the past, orientation events have included a confidential Q&A with peer mentors and more informal bonding over s'mores. Students are also provided practical support in the form of group information sessions and one-on-one advising check-ins.
Our Community
Start off on the right foot.
Built-in mentors and friends.
Peer Ambassadors and Leaders, also known as PALs, are there for incoming explorers from day one. PALs are just a message away for any student in need of resources, advice, or even someone to get lunch with!
Explorers are in good company.
As much as 20 percent of Ithaca’s incoming class in the School of Humanities and Sciences begins their academic journey in the Pathways Program. To help you get to know your fellow travelers and guides, we sponsor a variety of academic, informational, and social events:
- An ice cream social at the beginning of the semester
- Events in the Fall and Spring semesters to support 4 year planning
- A majors and minors fair featuring live advising stations, games, food, and prizes
