Minor in Translation Studies

The Translation Studies Minor is designed to complement any academic major. It offers the opportunity to acquire theoretical skills and practical experience in translating written texts as a career or as an area of academic research.

Students may choose to translate from French, German, Italian or Spanish into English or vice versa. Attaining a Translation Studies Minor positions students for freelance work in translation, career opportunities, and graduate school.

The Translation Studies minor is 21 credits, and is comprised of core course requirements, language-specific content, and a focused translation project.
