Senior Writing minor Joshua Pantano recently published a flash fiction piece entitled “Children of the Raft,” which can be found in both the online and print issue of Quibble Quarterly.
Joshua is a journalism student at Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications. He currently works as a staff writer and cartoonist for The Ithacan and creates a weekly podcast for VIC Radio called “Did You Hear That? with Peter Ratman.” In his home state of Florida, Joshua has produced content for the Jacksonville-based radio station WJCT. Although he has covered politics, life and culture, and more, his favorite topic to cover is the environment and sustainability.
When he is not producing news stories, Joshua eagerly explores the world of fiction writing. In addition to “Children of the Raft,” he has published several short stories in Zoetic, Stillwater, and Buzzsaw Magazine.
“Children of the Raft” beautifully depicts the gruesome realities that may accompany a life at sea. Through the lens of a lone seagull, readers are introduced to floating corpses and a book cleverly titled Life Out at Sea: Your Guide to Survival.
Congratulations, Joshua!
