As content manager for Condor Enterprises LLC, a company specializing in marketing for healthcare professionals, Tess Le Moing learns something new every day, working with people who guide and teach her about the marketing world. “It's really fun to collaborate and get ideas from each other,” she says. Together, they assist interesting clients, like a psychedelic therapy clinic that uses up-and-coming techniques to treat mental illness. Tess works remotely, publishing content for the client’s social media and editing blog posts and video content for the website.
One advantage to working remotely is that Tess can make time for her hobbies: traveling and cooking. Tess was inspired through writing classes like food writing to develop a blog, Funky Foods, where she originates unusual recipes and other food-related content. Begun as her senior project, her blog was a finalist for Saveur magazine’s 2019 Blog Awards.
After graduating, Tess stayed in Ithaca to gain experience, working at various eateries and as a culinary assistant for cookbook author Emma Frisch. Moving to New York City briefly, she worked as a personal chef and a test kitchen apprentice at VICE Media, testing different recipes and writing about them for the magazine. When COVID restrictions allowed for travel again, Tess headed to France. Living in Paris, she explored the city, continued her marketing, and was a personal chef for a Parisian family.
Now back in the States, Tess is exploring the culture and food of West Coast, from San Francisco to Los Angeles. She describes her current traveling lifestyle as “sporadic and spontaneous” –– but plans to find somewhere she can settle to focus on her blog and, someday, her own cookbook.
