The Electronic Music Studios of Ithaca College serve as a focal point of creative expression through the use of technology. Students explore compositional, musical, and sonic ideas using a hands-on approach from the first week of each course. For composition majors and other pre-professional students, the studios offer the chance for students to learn technologies and compositional techniques used in the fields of digital recording, sound and timbre design, editing, and mixing. For liberal arts students, the studios offer the chance for students to explore their own compositional and creative interests while learning a variety of ways to make music through music technologies.
