Class of 2023
Major: Occupational Therapy
Minor: Spanish
What clubs/organizations you are involved in?
I have been part of Running Club since freshman year, and joined the e-board as secretary this year.
Have you studied abroad?
I have not studied abroad yet because of the pandemic, but am in the application process to study in San Jose, Costa Rica in spring 2022.
Are you involved in IC athletics?
I also compete in meets as part of Running Club. We do cross country in the fall and track and field in the spring. I chose club sports because it allows me to have more time to focus on school work, but also offers a supportive environment to get outside, stay healthy, and make awesome friends!
Why did you choose Ithaca College?
When I was looking for schools, I was looking for a hands on 5 year program for a masters in occupational therapy, an opportunity to pursue a minor in Spanish, the ability to study abroad, a campus located somewhere I could get outside and enjoy nature, and all of this somewhere that was not too far to drive home for holidays. I came across Ithaca on a random google search and was very lucky to find all of those opportunities in one place. When I visited I discovered an extremely welcoming community and felt at home at the school and in the department.
Is there anything else you would want to share with a prospective student?
While the student body at Ithaca is on the smaller side, it allows for a lot of opportunities to make important connections with professors and classmates. It is the perfect size where it is large enough that you are always meeting new people, but also small enough that you have professors know who you are and be able to give you the support you need. Whether I have needed help on an assignment, advice on getting into a minor or study abroad program, support for a club, a recommendation for a job, or just someone to talk to, my professors have always stayed to chat and gone above and beyond to help however they could.
