Makiyah Adams
Culture and Communications, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Majors with a Minor in African Diaspora Studies
Makiyah (she/her) is a first-generation college student from Philadelphia, PA. She uses her schooling to find the intersections between art and liberation. Outside of school, Makiyah is most likely to be found listening to oddly specific playlists of her own creation or cultivating an ever-growing list of books to read for later.
Hope Borsic
English Major
Hope is a first-generation student from Sacramento, CA, however, she believes that home is where her family is, and right now that is Atlanta, GA. She loves children and has spent as long as she can remember babysitting, nannying, and coaching gymnastics. This love for childhood development led her to pursue secondary education as her major. She hopes to teach English Literature for middle school-aged children and believes strongly in the impacts of intergenerational mentoring. This shows up in her extracurriculars as well — she is the president of the Ithaca College Big Brother Big Sisters club. She is thrilled to be able to be a part of the 5th cohort of BOLD scholars. She is looking forward to potentially being a Fulbright ETA grant recipient and attending Columbia Teachers College after graduating from Ithaca.
Miriam Brown
Culture and Communication Major with Minors in Honors and Women and Gender Studies
Miriam (she/her) hails from outside Syracuse. She has a passion for social justice, which she hopes to bring to her future outdoor recreation and education endeavors. When not in class, Miriam loves to sing (Broadway musicals are always a staple), scout out the best Ithaca restaurants, or play a video game or two. She's looking forward to rounding out senior year and can't wait to see what the future holds.

Raevyn says that outside of work and school she enjoys home projects and taking her puppy Blu on different hidden Alaskan trails for fun walks. Raevyn says that she has grown as a BOLD scholar on all aspects of the spectrum, however she noted that she has especially grown as a woman, an individual, and as an advocate for diverse students who study STEM. Lastly, she states that she is not only excited to be graduating soon but she is ecstatic to finally be able to put her degree to good use.
