Cohort 3 - BOLD TRILOGY: EMPOWER
BOLD TRILOGY: EMPOWER is a year-long project that features monthly events with different themes to highlight Black organizations and individuals. Every month a different Black voices with a central theme for the speakers and events - Each specifically chosen to honor and empower Black lives on our campus, in the Ithaca community, and on social media.
Mission
As a cohort, it is our mission to educate ourselves on the most important issues of our time and to make a positive impact in our community by centering the voices and work of those most impacted by systemic oppression and sharing the resources we have access to as BOLD Scholars. We believe it is our duty to take part in and support the struggle for racial justice and equality, and hope that through our project, BOLD TRILOGY: EMPOWER, we can do our part to educate and build community at Ithaca College.
Vision
The third cohort of BOLD Scholars at Ithaca College aspires to strengthen community ties and uplift agents for change in Ithaca. We hope to utilize our platform to inspire transformative justice, celebrate authenticity and bring innovative ideas to fruition. The goal of our transformation project is to use our platform to support Black Lives Matter and highlight all aspects of Black communities. To demonstrate solidarity and support for our Black community members, businessowners, scientists, musicians, and everyone in between and from all walks of life. We will collaborate with organizations and individuals already doing the work of contributing to systemic change.
