Alex Estabrook is an Instructor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies at Ithaca College. He earned his M.S. in Communications Innovation and his B.S. in Television-Radio. Alex is an Emmy-nominated Editor and Producer, who worked in ESPN Production Operations from 2006 to 2016. He teaches in a multi-camera studio setting, as well as the versatile field and post-production classroom; both in-person and online. Alex's courses are housed in the Television-Radio and Sports Media programs. He is the Faculty Advisor to IC Esports.

Alex’s research and creative work focuses on gaming, esports and mental health. He seeks out opportunities to blend content styles and delivery methods. At ESPN, Alex produced highlights incorporating video game elements mixed with live event footage for broadcast nationally, internationally, and streamed to the internet. He created video packages splicing footage of The Rolling Stones in Martin Scorsese’s “Shine a Light” documentary with moments from the UEFA Euro League Championship, which aired across ESPN domestic and international platforms. His current projects pursue the ways in which gaming and esports benefit mental health and build awareness of the undesirable consequences of unhealthy gaming habits.
