Anna Kimble, a mezzo-soprano from Atlanta, Georgia, graduated from Ithaca College and the Pierce studio in May of 2013. While attending Ithaca, she appeared in the Ithaca College Mainstage Theatre's productions of Coram Boy and The Magic Flute. Anna has also performed in many student-composed pieces, including performing the female lead role in Monuments Men, a one-act opera written and directed by Patrick Valentino. She participated in the Ithaca Opera Studio's summer production of Hansel and Gretel, singing the role of Hansel. Anna has also performed with the Ithaca College Choir and Madrigal Singers under the direction of Lawrence Doebler and the Ithaca College Women's Chorale and Upstate New York Choir under the direction of Dr. Janet Galvan. Anna discovered her love for sacred and early music while in college and traveled to the early music mecca of Boston shortly after graduating. Anna has performed with numerous groups in the Greater Boston area, including the Marsh Chapel Choir under the direction of Dr. Scott Allen Jarrett. Through Marsh Chapel, Anna has performed at Trinity Church in New York City & Boston Symphony Hall, singing major works such as Bach’s B Minor Mass & the Britten War Requiem in addition to a huge repertoire of sacred music. She has also had the pleasure of working with some of the most esteemed conductors of our time, including Andrew Parrot, William Fred Scott & Simon Halsey. Anna loves the city of Boston and all of the musical opportunities it has to offer young musicians and plans to continue studying and singing there until she can’t stand the winter anymore.
