Carli Mazich-Addice is a mezzo-soprano with a warm, rich vocal quality. Her attention to detail and artistry makes her a strong performer. Her commitment to artistic growth has made her a dedicated artist to having a career in opera. Ms. Mazich-Addice graduated from Ithaca College in December 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance.
At Ithaca College Ms. Mazich-Addice premiered in a newly composed opera as Maria Cosway in the premiere of Wolf by the Ears (by Dana Wilson). Her portrayal was received well from her community. She enjoyed the challenge of playing the roles of the Mirror, Fairy, and Narrator in Transformations through the Ithaca College Light Opera.
Her portrayal of the Sandman in Hansel and Gretel at the CRS Barn brought joy to the many children it was performed for and gave her the opportunity to experience singing opera with professionals. Her scene study work done in Opera Workshop in the partial roles of La Natura(La Calisto) and Poppet (Paul Bunyan) gave her the ability to be versatile while also mastering behind the scenes responsibilities such as subtitles, costume, set design and props master. This year she attended the Taos Opera Institute in Taos, New Mexico, where she worked with coaches & teachers to put together an audition package and learned to become a balanced artist. In the fall she performed in the ensemble of Eastern Opera of New Jersey’s La Boheme.
Ms. Mazich-Addice also has experience with choral singing as a member of the Ithaca College Chorus and the Ithaca College Women’s Chorale. She has performed the works The Creation (Haydn) and the Ceremony of Carols (Britten). She also has performed in Ithaca College’s HIFashions Studios fashion shows and has been a three-year member of the Unbound Dance Company both as a choreographer and featured dancer.
When Ms. Mazich-Addice is not training towards her dreams of an opera career, she enjoys dancing, yoga, meditation and spending time with friends and family.
