Kendra Domotor is a recent graduate of Ithaca College with a B.M. in Vocal Performance (Magna cum laude). This season, Kendra is performing as an Apprentice Artist with Opera Ithaca, covering the role of Zerlina and singing in the chorus of Don Giovanni. This past season, she performed with Pennsylvania Lyric Opera, Opera Ithaca, and the Manhattan Opera Studio.
During her time at Ithaca College, Kendra was awarded the prestigious Roberta Peters Scholarship at IC for the 2014-15 academic year, sponsored by the famed soprano herself. She was also inducted into the Oracle, Phi Kappa Phi, and Pi Kappa Lambda honor societies. Opera credits at Ithaca College include: Elizabeth Alcott (Off Stage Voice) in Little Women on the Main Stage (2015); Princesse Laoula cover and chorus in L'étoile on the Main Stage (2014); Dater #25 Hanging Out and Dater #23 OSD in Speed Dating Tonight! with the Ithaca College Opera Workshop (2013); chorus in Song of Solomon with ICLO (2013); Cathleen in Riders to the Sea with ICLO (2012).
In the summer of 2014, Kendra studied and performed with "Si parla, si canta" at the highly acclaimed Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania, Italy. In the summer of 2013, she participated in the opera division of the International Performing Arts Institute in Kiefersfelden, Germany.
When she's not practicing, Kendra enjoys teaching group fitness classes. She is a certified Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise, and she is currently studying to attain her Personal Trainer certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. She is the founder of "OPERATHLETIC: A Singer’s Guide to Finding the Balance,” a new blog about fitness, nutrition, and wellness for the singing actor (http://operathletic.com), for which Dawn Pierce is an expert panelist. She hopes to attend graduate school for opera/vocal performance.
