The Graphic Novel Advisory Board is a community-service group that operates through the 2-credit course "ENGL 29700 Professional Development." Students gain experience in a variety of ways:
- Writing reviews of current graphic novels for a newsletter "The GNAB Review" that is sent out three times a semester to librarians across the country.
- Putting on literacy and creativity promoting programs for children in rural libraries.
- Giving informational presentations about graphic novels promoting diversity and accessibility in local and regional venues.
