Scholarly Work
My research interests focused on the nature of powerful learning experiences, design processes, systemic design, design education, and interdisciplinary inquiry. In these areas I wrote several books and many articles. I belonged to groups that are good avenues for students, practitioners, and scholars to connect with one another, including the American Educational Research Association, the International Society for Performance Improvement, the International Society for the Systems Sciences, and the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.
Two of my books are available online: Guiding Our Evolution, and Lessons for Leading Change.
On occasion, I wrote about issues in higher education, also. For example, an essay on liberal professional education can be found in the Documents section of this website.
