Students (and their siblings) who are the first in their family to attend and graduate from a four-year residential college in the U.S. are considered First-Gen.
Here at Ithaca College, approximately 15% of each incoming class identifies as First-Gen. For the academic year, we have over 500 first-gen students enrolled at IC!
Our First Generation Office has different spaces that are accessible to students such as the study lounge, the meditation and prayer room, and the sensory room.

Every November, The First Generation Center celebrates First-Generation Student Celebration Day on campus! The event will consist of raffles, food, and activities in support of First-Gen students. Join us in creating a sense of community and empowerment among the First-Generation population!
Seniors can pick up a First-Gen Cord and participate in our Senior Celebration in May!
