Genesis Sanchez

This is a award presented to a First-Gen student committed to improving the IC first-gen experience who has tremendous impact on the Ithaca Firsts community. Genesis Sanchez has dedicated her time throughout the 2019-2020 year to help other first-gen students find their place at Ithaca College. She started out the year serving as a Peer Transition Ambassador in the Pre-Semester Program First Look for incoming first-year first-gen students. Throughout the year she was also an active member of the First Place, the first-generation student residential learning community in East Tower, planning events for her peers. Finally, Genesis also serves on the Executive Board of the First-Gen Student Organization where she works collaboratively with her team to foster a sense of belonging and create events and workshops that help other first-gen students. NSTP would like to thank Genesis for all of her hard work and dedication to improving the first-gen experience on campus.
