The Orientation Coordinator plays a crucial role within NSTP, working alongside professional and student staff members to assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of inclusive services and programs for Fall Orientation. The work environment is collaborative, engaging, supportive, and fun. You will serve as an integral part of the orientation team supervised directly by the Assistant Director of New Student and Transition Programs. The team will consist of a tiered student staff structure of roughly 50-60 Orientation Leaders (OLs), 6-10 Orientation Mentors (OMs), and 2 New Student Programs Assistants (NSPAs), along with the NSTP professional staff.
You will gain invaluable transferable skills in the areas of event planning, student leader training, marketing and promotions, customer service, and program assessment. Ongoing training and support are provided to all NSTP staff members through office retreats, staff meetings, and supervision. Bachelor's degree required. Salary is $16.50/hour. Additional benefits include: most summer Fridays off, free housing and parking, access to the Fitness Center, and some meals covered during OL training and Fall Orientation.
This is a temporary summer assignment, ideal for recent graduates, from May 19–August 30, 2025.

Summer New Student Programs Assistants (NSPAs) play a crucial role within NSTP, working alongside professional staff members to assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of inclusive services and programs for Fall Orientation. This is a great opportunity for detail-oriented students interested in working with people and events. NSPAs gain invaluable transferable skills in the areas of planning, organization, marketing and promotions, customer service, and program development. Ongoing training and support are provided to NSPAs through training, staff meetings, and supervision. Salary is $15.50/hour for 30-35 hours/week. Additional benefits include: most summer Fridays off, free housing, and $450 on ID Express.
This position runs from May 19, 2025 - August 22, 2025, with the possibility of continuing employment during the academic year.
Orientation Leaders (OLs) play a critical role within NSTP, working alongside professional staff members to assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of inclusive services and programs at Fall and Spring Orientation.
We seek to provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for incoming students at Ithaca College, and highly encourage students of all backgrounds and experiences to apply. This high-impact leadership role provides OLs the opportunity to connect with new peers, develop leadership skills and campus knowledge, and share their unique IC experiences. This position includes a full week of paid training; prior OL experience isn't required. OLs are supervised by the Assistant Director of NSTP.
