A half-day outreach program hosted by the New York State Broadcasters Association at the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. The event titled “So You Want a Career...” is designed to focus on the career opportunities available in local broadcasting.

The event is open to Ithaca College students, faculty and staff. Panel sessions will include the following: "How to Get On-Air," "Sales & Cross Platform Marketing and Promotion," "Producing News, Sports and Programming." The list of featured panelists will post soon.

The New York State Broadcasters Association represents the interests of over 300 television and radio stations in the New York State Assembly, the United States Congress, and various other legislative bodies.

Since 1955, NYSBA has fought many battles on behalf of broadcasters including opening New York’s courtrooms to broadcast television coverage, putting broadcasters on equal economic footing with newspapers, and defending the confidential sources of broadcast journalists. In addition to its lobbying efforts, NYSBA offers a variety of services to help the broadcasters of New York State better serve their communities.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Jeremy Menard, jmenard@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
