Professor Craig Duncan (Coordinator of the Ithaca College Legal Studies Program and Professor of Philosophy) will explore the foundations for a constitutional right to an abortion, as argued for in Roe v. Wade (1973). The talk will also explore the Supreme Court’s rejection of those foundations in this year's decision Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The talk is sponsored by the Ithaca College Legal Studies Program in conjunction with the 2022 Constitution Day (September 17, 2022). The event is free and open to the public.
