IC Faculty Ombuds Team

Are you a faculty member who needs help resolving a concern? Are you unsure where to go, how to proceed, or what options are available? Do you feel your concerns have not been adequately addressed through other channels? If so, then contact the Faculty Ombuds Team.

WHO WE ARE

The Faculty Ombuds Team consists of three faculty members at the rank of associate professor or above, working together to assist our faculty colleagues. We are members of the International Ombuds Association (IOA) and follow the IOA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

WHAT WE DO

The Faculty Ombuds Team offers an informal and confidential space for faculty of all ranks to voice their work-related concerns. We listen with an open mind and explore options for productively managing and resolving your concerns, whatever they may be. We also bring systemic concerns to the attention of the college for resolution, thereby promoting fair process and a more civil, respectful, and equitable community.

As an impartial and independent office, we do not represent faculty during formal processes, nor do we initiate any formal process on campus. The Faculty Ombuds Team offers voluntary and informal services, which do not replace formal processes available to Ithaca College faculty.

TALK TO US

Faculty ombuds are available by telephone and videoconference and in person, including during drop-in office hours in PRWC 134. To schedule an appointment or drop in during office hours, consult the contact information below.
