We are so excited to welcome you to the Ithaca College community! Click the dates below to see the schedule for each day of Orientation, including early arrival.

- 9 a.m.–4 p.m. *Early Arrival Move-in and Orientation Check-in (for Jumpstart participants, international students, and certain fall athletes), Athletics and Events Center Arena
- Check in to receive your room key, ID card, and orientation materials then move in to your residence hall.
- 4:15–4:45 p.m. Early Arrival New Student & Family/Supporter Welcome, Athletics and Events Center Arena
- Kick off orientation with a short welcome with some IC VIPs and a chance to win some IC swag!
- 5–8 p.m. *Jumpstart Welcome Dinner & Activity, Campus Center Quad (Rain location: Emerson Suites)
- Students accepted into the Jumpstart program will meet staff and fellow new students over dinner, then join up with their specific Jumpstart groups for an activity.
- 9 a.m.–4 p.m. *Early Arrival Move-in and Orientation Check-in (for Jumpstart participants, international students, and certain fall athletes), Athletics and Events Center Arena

- OLs will line up around the arena by small group numbers for new students to find them.
- 5–7 p.m. *Student Dinner with Orientation Leaders, Campus Center & Terraces Dining Halls
- Orientation Leaders will lead their small groups over to dinner to connect with fellow new students, and start building a supportive network within the campus community!
- 5:15–6:15 p.m. Family/Supporter Orientation Session: Getting to Know Your Student’s School

- Attend a welcome from the Dean and meet with faculty and staff from your student's academic department.
- 7:10–8 p.m. *Residential Life Cluster Gatherings
- Upper & Lower Quads students: Athletics and Events Center Arena
- Terraces students: Ford Hall, Whalen Center for Music
- Towers students: Emerson Suites, Campus Center
- Cluster gatherings provide an opportunity to meet and connect with other students living in your residential cluster. This is a required event for students living on campus.
- 8:10–9 p.m. *Residential Life Floor Meetings, See your RA for location
- Meet your RA, residents on your floor, and connect! The floor meeting provides an opportunity to learn about community living.
- 9–10 p.m. *Residential Learning Communities (RLC) Events (Only required for students living in an RLC), Clark and Klingenstein Lounges, Campus Center
- Come meet other RLC students, your RLC associate, RA, and RD. Enjoy some sweet treats with new friends!
- 9–11 p.m. Residential Life Lounge Events
- Lower Quads: Landon, Bogart, and Lyon Lounges
- Upper Quads: Rowland, Hood, and Talcott Lounges
- East Tower: 10th Floor, Ground Floor Lounges

- Join us for an exciting evening of succulent planting, board games, coloring, cookie decorating, and sand art! Each lounge will have a different activity.

- Health Sciences and Human Performance: Center for Health Sciences 2nd floor lobby
- Humanities & Sciences: Students will receive an email from their dean's office with locations and times of their faculty advising meetings
- Music, Theatre, and Dance: Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center for Music
- Each school will host activities such as meeting with Deans and other staff and faculty, academic advising, program meetings, and more.
- 9 a.m.–noon Parent/Family Orientation Sessions, Athletics and Events Center Arena (will be recorded)
- 9–10 a.m. Just Between Us: Join Elizabeth Bleicher, Dean of Student Success, for straight talk, insider intel, and practical strategies to help your student transition to college academics. Bonus: includes all-time MVPs in Worst Idea Hall of Fame so you don't make their mistakes.
- 10–11 a.m. Wellness at IC: Learn about the IC resources available to support your student and their many levels of wellness throughout their college journey.
- 11 a.m.–noon Safety at IC: Your students' safety is our top priority, and we are committed to providing a secure environment where students can focus on their studies and enjoy their college experience.
- Noon–3 p.m. *Lunch and Resource Fair (students & parents/families), Athletics and Events Center
- Join us for lunch and become familiar with a variety of important campus resources. This event concludes parent and family programming.
- 3 p.m. *Students Get Into Their Small Groups, Athletics & Events Center Arena
- OLs will line up around the arena holding their small group numbers in the air so students can find them. OLs will then lead their small groups to their respective meeting locations.
- All students, including early arrivers, must attend.
- 3:15–4:15 p.m. *Small Group Meetings, See Small Group locations in the Fall 2024 Orientation booklet
- Meet with your OL and small group to ask questions, receive personalized advice, and learn about campus culture.
- 4:15–5:15 p.m. *Safety on Campus: Prevention, Reporting, and Resources, Athletics and Events Center
- Your Title IX and Public Safety teams are here to help you understand your rights, resources, and how to support one another by contributing to a campus community that promotes safety and respect.
- 5:30–7:30 p.m. BIPOC Unity Mixer with Karaoke, IC Square, Campus Center
- Join us for a memory-making evening to connect, network, and build lasting relationships in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Come ready to have fun and sing your favorite songs! All are welcome.
- 8–11 p.m. Res Life Neighborhood Event: Arcade and Game Night, Towers Marketplace
- Step into our arcade zone and immerse yourself in a world of classic and modern games! The first 100 residents in attendance can build-a-buddy!
- 8–11 p.m. Pride Night, Emerson Suites, Campus Center
- Always a popular event, enjoy mocktails, painting, and other crafts with your fellow new students, and meet the LGBTQ Center staff—all supplies provided, no skills required! Lots of free pride giveaways! All are welcome.

- Meet with your OL and small group to ask questions, receive personalized advice, and learn about campus culture.
- 11 a.m.–noon *Convocation, Athletics and Events Center
- A college tradition with various speakers and musical performances, convocation is your official academic welcome to IC that symbolizes the transition from one stage of education to another. Students will line up with their OLs and small groups outside the A&E Center before processing in together.
- Noon–2:00 p.m. *IC Community Lunch, Athletics and Events Center
- Immediately following convocation, the entire IC community is invited to join together in a community lunch.
- 2–4 p.m. *Academic Session II
- Each school will host activities such as meeting with Deans and other staff and faculty, academic advising, program meetings, and more.
- Business: Return to the same BUS classroom you were in for Academic Session 1
- Communications: Return to the same room you ended Academic Session 1 in
- Health Sciences and Human Performance: Center for Health Sciences 2nd floor lobby

- Explore the IC resources available to support your wellness throughout your college journey. This session will feature the Center for Health Promotion, Counseling and Psychological Services, and the Office of ICare and Student Support.
- 5:45–7 p.m. Center for Career Exploration and Development: Ponder with Pizza, Textor 101
- Join us for pizza as we walk you through an activity that will leave you with a better understanding of who you are and what you may want to consider as you start your career journey at IC!
- 6–8 p.m. Hillel Shabbat Services and Dinner, Muller Chapel
- 8–11 p.m. Res Life Neighborhood Event: Bingo, IC Square, Campus Center
- Get ready to shout "Bingo!" as you play through multiple rounds of thrilling bingo games, with a variety of game formats! Win big with our fantastic prizes and help yourself to some delicious ice cream while you play! Gluten and dairy free options available.
- 8–11 p.m. Club Glow with DJ Washburn, Dillingham Center Patio and Fountains (Rain Location: Fitness Center)
- Join us for a night of outdoor dancing with IC’s iconic alumnus, DJ Washburn!

- Connect with other transfer students, share your unique journey, and learn how to make the most of your IC experience.
- 1–5 p.m. Campus Tours, Departing from the Campus Center Quad (rain location: IC Square)
- Don’t know where your classes will be? Never fear, your Orientation Leader is here! Campus tours will leave every 20 minutes from the tents on the Campus Center Quad.
- 1–5 p.m. Mini Golf at Gannett, IC Library, Gannett Center
- Come play a unique set of mini golf holes carefully crafted by the IC Library!
- 2–3 p.m. *What’s Up with Identity: Talking About Who We Are (session A), Emerson Suites, Campus Center
- Small groups 1–30 will join the Center for Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, the BIPOC Unity Center, the LGBT Center, First Gen Center and the Office for Religious and Spiritual Life for an interactive session that dives deep into what makes up our identities. All students who attend will get free personalized art to take home, and an artisanal ice cream sundae buffet.
- 4–5 p.m. *What’s Up with Identity: Talking About Who We Are (session B), Emerson Suites, Campus Center

- 6:30–7:30 p.m. International Student Welcome, IC Square, Campus Center
- A gathering open to all members of the international community—to welcome back our continuing students and to welcome to campus all the new students who start their journey in August 2024.
- 8–11 p.m. #ICarnival, Campus Center Quad (Rain Location: Fitness Center)
- Step right up to our spectacular carnival! Enjoy classic carnival food, fun carnival games and inflatables, airbrush tattoos, prizes, and more!

- 9–11 a.m. First-Gen Breakfast, Taughannock Falls Meeting Room, Campus Center
- Connect with other first-gen students over breakfast.
- "First-Gen" refers to students (and their siblings) who are the first in their immediate family to attend and graduate from a four-year residential college in the United States.

- 11–1 p.m. Disabled Students Social: Sundaes on Sunday, Clark and Klingenstein Lounges, Campus Center
- Join the Disabled Students Alliance, Student Accessibility Services, and the Center for Student Success for ice cream sundaes, zine-making, and board and video games!
- 1–3 p.m. Fountain Fest, Dillingham Fountains (Rain location: Hoerner Theatre, Dillingham Center)
- IC’s traditional “fill the fountain” ceremony featuring special performances by student dance and a capella groups and a welcome from the President. Enjoy music, food, and prizes too!
- 4–6 p.m. Student Org & Job Fair, Campus Center Quad (Rain location: Emerson Suites)
- Join the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) to meet friends with similar interests, find your passion areas, and build your skill set and résumé. All student organizations and club sports are invited to connect with new and returning students.
- Along with the Center for Career Exploration and Development and Human Resources, representatives from a wide range of campus offices will be onsite to answer your questions about student employment opportunities. You can even apply for jobs! If you are interested in working on campus now or in the future, please come to the fair.
- 6–7 p.m. Ithaca College Catholic Community Mass, Muller Chapel
- 6–7 p.m. *Leadership Scholar Welcome Dinner (only required for new Leadership Scholars), Clark and Klingenstein Lounges, Campus Center
- This is a required event for all new Leadership Scholars to learn about the program requirements and meet the LSP mentors. A catered dinner will be served and there will be plenty of Leadership Scholar Program swag given out!
