CONSIDER LEAVING YOUR CAR HOME
Ithaca College aims to foster sustainability thinking and practice into its day-to-day management. Our efforts further our goal to create a “living-learning” laboratory that models and reinforces what our students are learning about sustainability. Furthermore Ithaca College recognizes the importance of strengthening the student connection to the College and laying the foundation for student success during the first year. As a result, we strongly urge students not to bring vehicles to campus, particularly during their first year. Instead, consider the alternative transportation options described below.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS:
BICYCLES ON CAMPUS
Registration: Registering your bicycle is recommended to deter crime, aid in the identification of lost or stolen bicycles, and enables the college to plan for improved bicycle parking and safety around campus.
TCAT BUS
The College has initiated a program with the local bus service, Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT), in which it subsidizes the TCAT bus pass, significantly reducing the cost to the student. This permit allows unlimited bus travel to downtown Ithaca, local supermarkets, shopping centers, and recreational areas. You may purchase a pass online at below. Once TCAT activates the semester pass, your Ithaca College ID will be your TCAT semester bus pass
and you’ll just have to swipe your ID to ride the bus.
ITHACA CARSHARE
Ithaca Carshare is a local nonprofit with the mission of enhancing community access to transportation while reducing negative environmental and economic impacts of car use.
