The “Uncommon Ground for the Common Good” Project was funded through a grant awarded to the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life by the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) as part of their pilot program, "Courageous Pluralism." Fellows were selected through an application process. Participants learned how to engage the public sphere through their religious and philosophical commitments and to bridge the religious and political divides spreading through higher education.
This project aims to cultivate a campus climate that embraces our whole selves in the public sphere e.g., religious and philosophical traditions, race, ethnicity, gender, class, sexuality, ability. This cohort engaged across differences in religious, spiritual, secular, and philosophical commitments.
