The way an organization communicates can be the key to its success or failure. Communication Strategy and Design (formerly Communication Management and Design) is designed for students who want to be part of the solution and lead the creative and strategic communication functions that create change. This degree provides students with the fundamental principles and skills used create social impact, develop the vision, invent strategy, and design of communication solutions for all organizations.

Courses teach you how to guide businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in communicating with their employees and society. Students learn to use their creativity purposefully and connect it strategy to design effective communication solutions and campaigns. Our graduates are able to utilize best practices that form the vision and strategies to maintain and protect organizational reputation while promoting socially responsible business practices.

Minor in Communication Strategy and Design

A minor in Communication Strategy and Design enables students to learn about how vital strategic communication is to the success of all organizations. This minor is a wonderful complement to just about any major because it provides you with a broad understanding of the communication functions in businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.

Applications for the minor are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 in order to apply to the minor, but this minimum does not guarantee acceptance. This minor is not open to Communication Management and Design majors.

Students accepted into the minor are strongly encouraged to complete an academic plan with their minor adviser.
