Brian has more than 30 years experience in the music recording industry.  

In his role as Manager of Recording Services he manages a staff of 40 student employees, and trains them on the latest versions of audio software / hardware as well as overseeing 70+ years of concert recordings archived in myriad legacy formats.

Currently active as an AVID Certified Support Representative and AVID Certified Instructor for Pro Tools Dolby Atmos Music Production, his professional roles include recording / mixing / mastering engineer, producer, musician, studio manager, and technician.

He has collaborated with world-class artists, producers, and engineers on Grammy-winning projects.

Brian graduated from the Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications in 1994 with a bachelor of science degree in Audio Production, along with minors in Electroacoustic Music, and Still Photography.

In addition to his recording expertise, he is an actively performing and recording bassist.

Our first female Sound Recording Technology graduate, Shalini Gandhi ’11, has quickly risen to the top of the music recording industry, and is now using her talents to inform the next generation of women active or entering the music business!

In 2017, Gandhi received a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album as Engineer for her work on Sarah Jarosz's Undercurrent album!. She was also nominated for Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, along with Gary Paczosa, for the same album.

A native of Perth, Australia, she moved to Ithaca, New York in 2007, to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree at Ithaca College:

Mastering engineer Andrew Mendelson '98 

currently owns and operates the legendary Georgetown Masters in Nashville, TN, and mastered the album Buru Ju by West African Kora master Madou Sidiki Diabate.

The release was recorded at Studio Bogolon in Bamako, Mali and mixed by Brian Dozoretz ’94 in Ithaca, at Alex Perialas '80  Pyramid Sound Studios.

Madou and his brother, Grammy-winner Toumani Diabate, belong to the 71st generation of Kora players in his family lineage.
