I am a graduate of the Occupational Therapy Department at Ithaca College and joined the faculty full time in 2006. I served as the OT Department's Chair and Program Director from 2020-2023 and currently serve as an Associate Dean for the School of HSHP.
I have worked in the field of adult and geriatric rehabilitation in a variety of settings, including hospital, outpatient, community based, and long-term care facilities. My specialty areas are ergonomics and work-related practice, and I am a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS). I am also interested in community-based programming and health and wellness, and developed a partnership to provide occupational therapy services at the Ithaca Free Clinic. My doctoral work focused on the role of occupational therapy in the sustainability movement through green ergonomics, and my research also focuses on the dynamic interactions of people at work. I am past chair of the American Occupational Therapy Association's (AOTA) Commission on Practice, and also served as chair of AOTA's Work and Industry Special Interest Section.
I taught a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, such as Concepts in Adult OT, Adult Evaluation and Intervention Processes, Research Seminar, Group Research I and II, OT in Life Skills at the Center for Life Skills, and Applied Occupations Lab.
I am from Long Island originally but fell in love with Ithaca and relocated after graduating. My family and I enjoy spending time visiting all of the great area parks, shops, and restaurants!
