McKenzie “Mac” Murray (she/her) serves as Program Coordinator in the BIPOC Unity Center. Mac began her role at Ithaca College in July 2024.
As the Program Coordinator, Mac will:
- Plan and implement programs and events to support students and foster an inclusive environment
- Support students with academic, personal, and career-related interests or concerns and serve as a private resource
- Serve as an advisor to student organizations
Mac graduated from Cornell University’s College of Human Ecology with a B.S. in Human Development and a minor in Inequality Studies. Her undergraduate experience was shaped by her dedication to supporting and empowering students from diverse backgrounds. Mac engaged with and conducted research on protective measures to better support the academic success and well-being of students. This Fall, she will begin her M.A. in Social Justice at Union Theological Seminary with plans of becoming a minister in the future.
Mac is passionate about ensuring everyone has access to the resources and supports they need to be able to live to their fullest potential and achieve their idea of happiness.
Some fun facts about Mac:
- Outside of IC, Mac serves as the College and Young Adult Ministry Lead at Calvary Baptist Church (Ithaca, NY)
- She is an avid sewer and fabric buyer with a clothing brand called “Made By Mac” (a lot of her clothes are self-made)
- She won the title “Miss Gold” in the 2023 Miss Black and Gold Pageant at Cornell
- She braids her own hair and knows where to get the best deals on products
- She is from Snellville, GA
