Becky Jordan works in the Center for Music as the Manager of the Library of Ensemble Music and the Music Education Resource rooms. Becky is responsible for the administration, maintenance and growth of the performance music collection and music education resources, including but not limited to, the distribution and collection of resources to individuals in ensembles, faculty, staff, and students.
A native of Ithaca, New York, in 1994, Becky joined the then School of Music at Ithaca College. In 1997, she accepted the position as Coordinator of the Ensemble Collection. In 2011, Becky was promoted to Manager of Ensemble and Music Education Collections, at which time the administration of the Music Education Resource areas was added to the position.
In the spring of 2000, Becky was featured in an article about the Library of Ensemble Music in Volume 1, Number 1 of the School of Music Ithaca Soundings Newsletter, a publication for alumni and friends of the Ithaca College School of Music. Additionally in 2000, Becky was one of the first recipients of the Ithaca College Choice Award for orchestrating the move of the ensemble collection from the fifth floor of the former Ford Hall to the current space on the first floor of James J. Whalen Center for Music. Becky rallied 120 faculty, staff and student volunteers and created a “human chain” to help relocate more than 3,500 orchestra and band sets. In October 2021, Becky was again featured in the School of Music Dean's Newsletter in a Story of Strength, describing the steps taken during COVID to recover School of Music ensemble sheet music, instruments, and materials.
In January 2005, Becky successfully completed Ithaca College’s Leadership Program. Over the years, Becky served on The Ithaca College Staff Council Committee, including various roles on the Executive Committee, the Benefits Committee and the Chair of the Our Kids Committee, most noted for the creation of the Ithaca College Summer Recreation Camp. For the past 28 years, Becky has volunteered as an usher at the Commencement Eve Concert, the Commencement Day Ceremony ushering graduates to their seats and as a volunteer at the Cortaca football game, the annual infamous game among rivals Ithaca College vs. Cortland State.
Becky currently resides in Dryden, New York, with her husband Randy.
