Its vantage point above the city of Ithaca provides an outstanding view of Cayuga Lake and the surrounding wooded countryside. The College has an active summer program that includes an academic term for graduate and undergraduate students as well as sports camps and other youth programs.
Institute participants can enjoy a wide variety of recreational facilities on campus. These include an outdoor track and tennis courts. (Because the campus is built on a hill, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.) In addition, the Finger Lakes region offers ideal places for family excursions. Within easy driving distance are the world-renowned Corning Museum of Glass, award-winning wineries, Mark Twain's summer home, and numerous state parks famous for waterfalls and gorges.
