Mandala Visitor Information

Parking

Guest parking is available in the Visitor Lot located on Conservatory Drive, which is directly to the right as you enter the main entrance to campus from NYS Route 96B/Danby Road. See the map for directions. You can find a map with walking directions from the Visitor Lot to the School of Business here.

Overflow parking will be available in O Lot if the Visitor Lot is full. Follow the directions of the Visitor Lot attendant or the signs posted on the kiosk at the entrance of the Visitor Lot. You can find a map with driving directions from the IC main entrance to O Lot as well as walking directions from O Lot to the School of Business here

All parking lots are available for guest parking after 5 pm on weekdays and all day on the weekend, as long as the parking lot is not specifically reserved for other campus events.

All campus handicap accessible spaces are available to the general public as long as the vehicle displays a valid municipally issued handicap permit. The closest handicap parking is available in E lot (north of Textor Hall) and U lot (north of Campus Center). See the map for directions.

Questions regarding parking can be directed to the Parking Services Office at parking@ithaca.edu or by calling (607) 274-3756 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Directions to the School of Business

Follow the directions on the map to the Business School, which is also called the Park Center for Sustainable Enterprise on the interactive map. The mandala is in the Upper Atrium. There is an elevator available in the building.

Photography and Video Recording

All spectators are welcome to take photos and videos during the construction of the mandala. We ask that you be respectful of the monks, their work, and the other visitors. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No Flash Photography
  • Do Not Touch the Mandala
  • Do Not Enter the Area Enclosed by the Roped Barriers

While Buddhist sand mandalas are aesthetically arresting, their creation is a religious ritual and thus we ask that you please do your part to help us maintain a quiet environment out of respect for the monks and other visitors. This could involve silencing your cell phones and keeping conversations to a low volume. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dining On Campus

Visitors can purchase meals or refreshments at the Eleven Wall Cafe in the School of Business. The cafe is open 8 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday and offers salads, sandwiches, drinks and snacks.

Another option for meals and refreshments is Ithaca Bakery located on the bottom floor of Campus Center (Phillips Hall). It offers freshly brewed coffee and tea, specialty coffee drinks, and a wide variety of soups, sandwiches, salads, bagels and baked goods. The Ithaca Bakery Cafe is open 7 am - 3 pm Monday-Friday and 8 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. More information about campus dining options and their open hours is available on the Ithaca College Dining website.
