ACTEC has organized a college-wide assessment plan arranged by distinct transition points for education students progressing through all initial certification programs as outlined below. The coursework and requirements included in this plan and necessary for completion of each education program degree is described in detail in the Ithaca College Undergraduate and Graduate catalogs. Initial Certification candidates are also expected to meet professional qualities and dispositions expectations in order to begin and successfully complete their student teaching or externship. These expectations, and the rubrics used to evaluate students at these transition points, can all be found in the Professional Education Faculty Assessment Handbook which is updated and shared with faculty annually.
